About the evening

Steaua sus răsare is an evening of Christmas carols for the Romanian community in London: traditional Romanian carols and carols from around the world. Edu For You and Titus Entertainment present Dragoș Moștenescu and ARTA DUO, with special guests the tenors Oliver Popa and Daniel Morar, Claudiu Avram and the Ciuboțica children’s group.

ARTA DUO. With over 10 years of experience touring with carols in the UK, Belgium, France, Romania and other European countries, this group of professional carol singers brings you the joy of the winter holidays with traditional Romanian carols and authentic costumes. Each member of the group is an award-winning performer at numerous international festivals, across a range of musical genres. The group is led by Andrada Maria Pascu, a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, London, and Florin Constantin Pascu, a graduate of the Drumtech Music School, London.

Dragoș Moștenescu. An actor and TV and film producer, Dragoș brings good cheer and the charm of the winter holidays to you through a series of traditional songs, sprinkled with humour and positive energy. He was a finalist in the Musical Comedy Awards London 2024 and was invited to the Edinburgh Festival with his show ALL ABOARD!, earning the title of “Highly Recommended Show”. In Romania, he is known for creating and starring in the series La Bloc.

Oliver Popa. Oliver has more than six years of experience as a vocal coach on X Factor and teaches singing at AB Music Academy across a wide range of musical styles. A specialist in musical theatre, he has performed leading roles in some of the most iconic productions in the theatre world, including The Phantom of the Opera, West Side Story, Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar, My Fair Lady, Broadway Bucharest, Romeo and Juliet and the operetta Silvia.

Daniel Morar. A graduate of AB Music Academy in London, Daniel performs on stages across the UK and Romania, with distinctive interpretations of Romanian folk songs and of well-known classical arias.

Claudiu Avram. An outstanding taragot player and a regular guest at the Dumitru Farcaș folk festival in Cluj, Claudiu has won awards at many Romanian and international folk festivals, taking Romanian song and ballad to audiences in Bulgaria, Hungary and Poland.

Ciuboțica. Tatiana Miron and the Ciuboțica children’s group are a Romanian folk ensemble founded in 2019 and led by Eugenia and Tatiana Miron.
