The moving QR code, and why screenshots do not work
Your ticket's QR code changes every 30 seconds, so a screenshot of it soon stops working.

On your ticket page and order page, your QR code changes every 30 seconds, with a line moving across it, so door staff can tell a live ticket from a picture. A screenshot or a photo of the moving code stops working within a minute.
At the door
Open the ticket page and show the moving code, screen bright and full size. Do not screenshot it.
Some organisers require the moving code. For those events, a static QR (from the email, a printout or a screenshot) is refused with "Ask for the live ticket", and your tickets email tells you to open your live ticket.
For other events, the static QR in your "Your tickets are ready" email works too. Your QR code, moving or not, appears 24 hours before doors: see When do I get my QR code?.
Weak signal at the venue?
Open your ticket before you queue. The page keeps the next couple of minutes of codes, so a short drop in signal does not stop it. The door can check tickets even when it has no connection.
A new code replaces the old one
When a ticket is transferred, resold, or its email is corrected, it gets a brand new code. Every earlier copy, moving or not, stops working. That is how we make sure only the right person gets in.
